HALIFAX: Dogs took over Halifax on Sept. 20 as Good Robot Brewing hosted My Big Fat Dog Wedding, a heartwarming, tail-wagging celebration where two pups tie the knot in the beer garden, followed by a reception featuring local vendors, dog-friendly treats, games, and of course, great beer.
“Before Covid, Good Robot was known for bizarre events that made people laugh and brought the community together, everything from Crop Top Tolerance Day to puppet shows with Jim Henson’s former crew,” said Joshua Counsil, Co-Founder of Good Robot Brewing said in a release.
“Covid put a stop to that, but now we’re back and dumber than ever.
“Life is scary and mundane enough. Let’s enjoy some beers, marry some dogs, and get on with it.”

Haligonians even help choose the stars of the show.
Through an online contest that was open until September 5, dog owners can submit their pups as a couple, then the public will vote for the pair they think deserve to strut down the aisle.
The winning duo were wed at the event, fetching prizes and eternal puppy love bragging rights.
The $10 tickets saw $5 donated to Fly With Me Animal Rescue, supporting their lifesaving work helping dogs find safe homes.
