LOWER SACKVILLE: Modular construction is one way that the Province is building more public housing for Nova Scotians, faster.
Photos below of a project currently underway in Lower Sackville show how quickly progress can be made, with Eastcut starting to build the modules early last fall.
This week, the roof sections are being craned onto the building, completing the assembly of the units.
During the demonstration on Aug. 12, a crane placed roof components to complete the assembly of modular units for new public housing in Lower Sackville.
The site is located at 51 Old Beaver Bank Rd., in the parking lot between the building under construction and Sackville Manor (the upper level of the construction site).
Nathaniel Venedam, President and Chief Operating Officer, DORA Construction and David Benoit, President and CEO, Build Nova Scotia were also in attendance, joining Housing Minister John White.
Venedam provided an overview of modular construction for public housing.
