EAST HANTS: Police have investigated a complaint of a female driver being followed by two unknown men in a Dodge Durango between Elmsdale and the Shubenacadie area and have determined nothing criminal had taken place.

A post on a local community Facebook page detailed an account by an anonymous woman of being followed from Hwy 102 Elmsdale to Hwy 215 in Rines Creek.

The driver was able to obtain a license plate, however one digit was incorrect, said Const. Andrew Ouellette, with East Hants RCMP in Enfield.

Const. Ouellette reached out to The Laker News May 13 to provide an update to the community on the incident.

“East Hants RCMP members were able to track down the vehicle owner, which lead to identifying the operator and passenger,” said Const. Ouellette. “All parties were spoken with. It was determined that nothing criminal had taken place.

“The two vehicles ended up in the same area through happenstance.”

He said that there were no other reported incidents with this Dodge Durango and no known reports of sex traffickers operating in East Hants.

Const. Ouellette said East Hants RCMP encourages members of the community to call in complaints when they believe they are warranted.

“Please verify any criminal issues/concerns with one of the detachments in East Hants, Enfield, or Rawdon,” he said.
