WAVERLEY/BEAVER BANK: Two women’s hockey players have got their 2026-27 seasons underway with their respective NCAA Division 1 women’s hockey teams.

Hilary Wilkin of Waverley and Cicely Harnum of Beaver Bank are just into their new seasons down south.

Wilkin is playing with the University of Vermont Catamounts, while Harnum is in her rookie campaign with Syracuse University.

In two games this season, Oct. 2-3, Wilkin has one goal and two shots on net. She is also a plus/minus-+1.

The Catamounts earned a 3-0 win on Oct. 2 and then lost 3-2 on Oct. 3 in the game Wilkin scored.

Meanwhile, at Syracuse University, Harnum comes in off an impressive season with Stanstead College last year.

There she posted an impressive 23-6-4 record (won-loss-tie) and a 2.25 GAA with six shutouts across 33 games.

This year with Syracuse, who has three goalies rostered, Harnum has yet to see action.

As a freshman she has not made her official NCAA debut as fellow goaltender Ava Drabyk has handled the bulk of the early-season minutes, helping steer Syracuse to a 3–1–0 start.

The Orange women host Penn State this weekend Oct. 9-10 in Syracuse, NY before heading to Moon Township, PA on Oct 16-17 for games at RMU. Some games for the Syracuse team are available on Flo Hockey.
