Elmsdale man charged in Dartmouth homicide

DARTMOUTH: A 23-year-old man from Elmsdale has been charged in the death of a Dartmouth man on May 12 in an incident police say was not random.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 12, officers with Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gun shots and an injured man in the area of the Dartmouth waterfront near the 0-100 block of Alderney Drive.

In a release, HRP says officers located a man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

An autopsy was conducted by the Medical Examiners Service yesterday and the cause of death has been ruled a homicide.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Tyler Michael Boyd Algee.

Three people were arrested at the time of the incident.

On May 13, Investigators with the Special Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division charged Justin Ronald Adams-Clarke, 23, of Elmsdale with second degree murder and possession of a weapon while prohibited.

The other two people taken into custody were released without charges yesterday.

At this time, investigators believe this is not a random incident and they are not looking for any other suspects.
