GRAND LAKE: The LWF Baseball Association has the funds it needs to purchase a tractor for maintenance at a pair of community ball fields and roadways into them.

Recently, Jay Cameron, the chairman of the LWF (Lakeview-Windsor Junction-Fall River) Ratepayers Association (LWFRA), was in Grand Lake to present Barry Dalrymple, treasurer with the LWF Baseball Association with a cheque for $2,000.

The presentation was done after the LWFRA made a cheque donation towards the Grand Lake/Oakfield skating ice rink.

Cameron said the LWFRA is pleased to support LWF Baseball with the purchase of its new tractor.

“Baseball continues to grow in popularity in our area,” said Cameron. “On any given summer night, the sounds of children playing echos through our neighbourhood.”

He said it’s great to be able to help the baseball association, run by community volunteers, ensure access to the games is made for all.

“The LWFRA sees meaningful returns in helping LWF Baseball expand access to the game for our families.”
