WAVERLEY: Cheema Aquatic Club received some funding support from the local councillor recently.
Cathy Deagle Gammon, who represents Waverley-Fall River-Musquodoboit Valley on HRM council, visited the Waverley club to present them with $5,000 from her capital account.
The money is being used to support the club’s purchase of a new outboard motor and special rescue boat.
This will help to enhance safety while coaching Paracanoe, Special Olympic and Masters athletes.
On hand for the presentation by Deagle Gammon were Paracanoe athlete Danial Murphy; Paracanoe coach Alex Logan; Special Olympics/PaddleAll coach Corbin Colville; and Paracanoe coach Bailey Grey.
