SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD: Mother Nature did her best to wash out race night at Scotia Speedworld on August 21, but race officials weren’t ready to throw in the towel.
After working to get the track into racing shape, officials managed to get three of the four divisions onto the track for the Bay Equipment Rentals Weekly Racing Series. The United Mortgage Alliance Bandoleros, however, were forced to sit this one out after wet conditions left the Bando track unsafe for competition.
Those who did get to race were treated to an eventful night — including a milestone victory for a young driver who will remember August 21 for a long time.
MacDonald scores first career victory
The Traction Mini Stocks delivered the biggest celebration of the night as Blake MacDonald drove the No. 34 to the checkered flag for his first career feature victory.
MacDonald kept his Mini Stock out front over the 30-lap feature to earn the breakthrough win, with Tim Wright finishing second and Dillon Black rounding out the podium.
David Clark came home fourth, while local racer Ethan Miller completed the top five in the No. 90.
Clark also picked up a heat-race win, while Nolan Butt and Black took the other Mini Stock heats.
For MacDonald, the night was about more than simply winning a race — it marked the first time he has stood atop the feature results at Scotia Speedworld.

Noble comes up just short in Sportsman
The Maritime Auto Glass Sportsman feature gave local fans plenty to cheer about, with Dawson Noble putting together a strong run in the No. 8.
Noble finished second in the 40-lap feature, chasing Jeffrey Breen across the finish line. Noble’s runner-up finish came after a solid night that showed the No. 8 was a contender from the start.
Another local standout, Darren Wallage, also had a strong night. Wallage drove the No. 3 to a third-place finish and backed it up by winning Sportsman Heat 1.
Ashley Creelman finished fourth, followed by Sheldon Pemberton in fifth. Pemberton also captured the second Sportsman heat.
With Noble and Wallage both landing on the podium, the Sportsman division provided one of the strongest local showings of the night.

Christensen lands on the Legends podium
The Legends feature saw Ayden Christensen continue his strong form with a second-place finish.
Christensen brought the No. 24 home behind feature winner Caden Tufts, with Campbell Delaney finishing third.
Russell Smith Jr. and Devin Wadden completed the top five.
Tufts also won a heat, while Sam MacDonald took the other Legends heat.
Mother Nature may have tried to win the night, but Scotia Speedworld managed to get the racing done, and gave the fans a memorable August 21 race night in the process.
