The Brown Hall in Beaver Bank is celebrating 100 years. However, with COVID19 they have had to be closed, so they're asking the community for support. (Healey photo)

BEAVER BANK: The Beaver Bank Community Hall or Brown Hall as it is know by almost all the people is going to be 100 in 2021.

The hall has served the community of Beaver Bank, scouting, guiding, seniors, darts and for private events like birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and many youth groups private and community based.

Planning is underway to celebrate its birthday next year with hopefully a large fundraiser as it exists by only the rental income from user groups.

It is not supported by any subsidies from government except some assistance by discretionary funds of the local councillor and some donations when required from local organizations like Lions club, Awareness association, Kinsmen club, etc.

Now with the times the way it is with the Covid-19, Brown Hall has been closed since March and has no income just the normal expenses like insurance, lights, heat, water, phone, internet and all the other little costs that add up.

A GoFundMe Page has been setup for Brown Hall as a last resort.
