ELMSDALE: A wrong-way driver during the snowstorm on Dec. 8 had East Hants RCMP responding promptly on Dec. 8.

East Hants RCMP S/Sgt. Cory Bushell said officers were alerted to a truck on Highway 102 in Elmsdale, pulling a small boat on a trailer heading north bound on the south bound lane.

“Police quickly found the truck in the wrong lane, but the vehicle was pulled to the side of the highway,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

The driver, a 64-year-old Cape Breton man, appeared confused to members on the scene, said S/Sgt. Bushell.

“Officers conducted a roadside screening test; however, the results were negative,” he said. “For the driver’s safety, and the safety of the motoring public, he was given a 24-hour driving suspension.”

S/Sgt. Bushell said the driver was also issued a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the highway.
