ENFIELD: The late Const. Heidi Stevenson, who was stationed with East Hants RCMP in Enfield, has been named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women by Women’s Executive Network.

Every year, the national organization selects 100 women to receive the award, which recognizes “women who personify what it means to be powerful through the way they empower and champion others, influence change and stand up for all of us.”

N.S. RCMP Commanding Officer, A/Commr. Bergerman, presented the award to Heidi’s husband, Dean, at their home.

Family Liaison Officers Cpl. Randy Slawter and Cpl. Ron Robinson were also there for the presentation.

Heidi’s submission reads: “Heidi Stevenson was an active mom, a loving wife, a dedicated daughter and a cherished friend. She led her life with kindness and compassion and confidently stood up for what she believed in.

Whether volunteering at the school, planning bake sales or coaching rugby, her passion for people and community shone brightly.

Heidi served as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for 23 years and tragically lost her life in the line of duty in April 2020.”
