Cpl. Chris Marshall: Your new N.S. RCMP Public Information Officer

DARTMOUTH: The Nova Scotia RCMP is introducing new bilingual Provincial Public Information Officer (PIO), Corporal Chris Marshall.

Originally from Saskatchewan, Cpl. Marshall spent a portion of his childhood in Nova Scotia before moving to Montréal, where he remained until he joined the RCMP in 2011.

Following graduation from “Depot” Division in Regina, Saskatchewan, he was posted to beautiful Shelburne, Nova Scotia in general duty policing.

After his time in Shelburne, Cpl. Marshall was transferred to Cheticamp in 2013, then Kingston in 2015.

After having completed seven years of general duty policing, Cpl. Marshall started a new role in 2018 with the Valley Integrated Street Crime Enforcement Unit (VISCEU).

VISCEU includes members of the RCMP and Kentville Police Service and is based at the New Minas RCMP Detachment.

“I am excited to start this new role and continue serving Nova Scotians in a meaningful and effective way,” says Cpl. Marshall. “I have spent almost 16 years of my life in Nova Scotia, and I consider this beautiful province my home.”

The RCMP would like to thank Cpl. Jennifer Clarke for her dedication to the role of Provincial PIO since 2016, and Sgt. Andrew Joyce and Cpl. Mark Skinner for their commitments to the role in the interim.
