LOWER SACKVILLE: A 31-year-old Dartmouth man has been arrested for impaired driving after police stopped him for failure to yield.

RCMP say that on Oct. 11 at approximately 2:11 a.m., an RCMP officer stopped a Ford Escape on Old Sackville Rd., near Twelve Mile House Lane.

This came after the vehicle failed to yield and turned left in front of the officer.

The officer spoke to the driver about their driving behaviour and observed signs of impairment.

A roadside alcohol screening test was administered to which the driver failed.

The driver, a 31-year-old man of Dartmouth, was arrested for driving while impaired, and was transported to Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment.

At the detachment he provided two breath samples, each registering 150 mg% of alcohol.

The man was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

Drivers who use drugs or alcohol risk their lives and the lives of everyone else on the road when they get behind the wheel.

If you believe someone is driving impaired or is otherwise an immediate threat to public safety, call 911.
