YARMOUTH: A Fall River hockey player is starting to find his rhythm as his freshman campaign in the Maritime Junior A Hockey League kicks into gear.

After an explosive pre-season with the Yarmouth Mariners that saw him showcase his talent and skill, Ryder MacQueen has carried that over to the regular season as he gets comfortable on the ice after each game.

In the Mariners 8-4 doubling of Valley Wildcats on Sept. 20, the former Georges P. Vanier Junior High student picked up two goals and an assist in the big victory.

That effort alone was good enough to earn him second star honours for Yarmouth.

On the season, he also has four penalty minutes playing in all four games the team has hit the ice for so far.

Yarmouth will host the Edmundston Blizzard on Sept. 27. Game time is 7 p.m. at Mariners Centre.
