MOUNT UNIACKE: A 37-year-old woman from Dartmouth tried to evade police on Dec. 14 in Mount Uniacke, but East Hants RCMP located the woman near Beaver Bank Road.

RCMP were called to Hwy 1 in Mount Uniacke for a report of a suspected impaired driver, said S/Sgt. Cory Bushell, of East Hants RCMP, in one of the highlighted calls for the weekly From the Cruiser column.

“Police were told that the suspect vehicle was all over the road and forcing oncoming vehicles off the highway,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

Upon East Hants officers arrival, the suspect was, but members relentlessly searched, he said.

The vehicle with the driver behind the wheel was located on Sackville Drive near Beaver Bank Road.

S/Sgt. Bushell said the woman is facing impaired driving and will face the courts at a later date.
