MOUNT UNIACKE: An injured hiker was extricated from a remote, wooded area in Mount Uniacke on April 28.
S/Sgt. Cory Bushell, with East Hants RCMP, writes in the weekly From the Cruiser column, sponsored by GNS Rentals, that officers received a call of a person calling for help.
“Along with firefighters from the Mount Uniacke area, our officers responded and found a lone hiker approximately one kilometre in the woods along a trail,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.

“The hiker had suffered leg injuries and required assistance.”
He said EHS paramedics attended the scene.
“The hiker was evacuated by boat due to remoteness and rough terrain of hiking trail,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.
There was no word on the extent of the injuries to the hiker.
