WELLINGTON: The luggage for the athletes from Inner Strength Taekwondo came home a bit heavier on its return.

The athletes from the Wellington-based dojang collected four gold medals; a silver; and a bronze during competition over the weekend at the Canada Open in Montreal, Quebec. The event featured athletes from across the world competing in La Belle province.

Winning gold were Katie Cox; Jaidyn Bartlett; Ronan Sinclair; and Emma Bennett.

Silver was won by Nick Skinner, while Aaron Potter nabbed a bronze medal.

The team returned home on Oct. 7. But it will be a short stay home for some, as they were scheduled to leave Wednesday Oct. 9 for Las Vegas and the President’s Cup competition.
