LWF Hall temporarily closing due to COVID19 outbreak in HRM

FALL RIVER: The LWF Community Hall in Fall River will be temporarily closing, effective immediately, the LWF Community Hall Board announced.

In a release to The Laker News, the association’s Barry Dalrymple said it is being proactive to protect its volunteer work force. The LWF Hall is located at 843 Fall River Road in Fall River.

“Due to increasing Covid-19 cases and continually increasing exposures locations throughout the HRM area, the LWF Community Hall will be temporarily closing it’s dine-in option on Thursday nights until further notice,” Dalrymple said. “All other private bookings are also cancelled and will be rescheduled to a future date.”

The dine-in closure directly impacts the option for patrons to sit and enjoy their meal at its popular Thursday night wing, which the Lions Club holds.

“The Lions Club will continue the weekly Wing Night, but it will be take-out only,” Dalrymple continued. “The hours will change slightly to 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The Takeout number is 902-220-5783.”

In concluding the release, the board hopes the community understands the decision.

“The health and safety of our volunteer work force that keeps the hall functioning on a weekly basis is top priority,” Dalrymple said. “Once the community spread reduces or is eliminated, we will re-evaluate to re-open.

“We hope you all understand, and we look forward to welcoming you back at a future date.”
