NL man identified as victim of fatal Hwy 102 collision near Fall River

WINDSOR JUNCTION: A 20-year-old man from the Lewsiporte, NL. area has died following a single-vehicle collision in Windsor Junction on Sunday morning, Oct. 22.

Halifax District RCMP Cpl. Guillaume Tremblay said police responded at 11:30 a.m. to the collision on Hwy 102 between Exit 4c Lower Sackville (Bedford Commons exit) and Exit 5 (Fall River).

“RCMP officers learned that a Honda Civic was travelling north when it left the roadway and came to rest in the ditch,” aid Cpl. Trremblay.

HRM Fire along with EHS also responded to the call.

Hwy 102 northbound (outbound lane) was closed for several hours after the incident.

The lone occupant of the vehicle, the driver a 20-year-old Newfoundland man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing.

According to friends of the victim who have shared the post from the RCMP Facebook page, the victim was known to many in the Lewisporte area, and was described as a sweet and nice guy who had just moved to the N.S. to begin his career.
