SIPEKNE’KATIK FIRST NATION: Mother Nature couldn’t dampen the atmosphere on Tuesday night at the Sipekne’katik Arbour with two award-winning musicians taking the stage.
Morgan Toney from Cape Breton and DeeDee Austin, formerly from Fall River, hit the Arbour stage as rain fell around them, but the energy they brought was duplicated by the small, but very interactive crowd.
Many children got up to dance during each artist’s performance, dancing the night away.
Toney was first up, followed by Austin.
The energy they brought to kick start a busy rest of the week for the N.S. Mi’kmaw Summer Games was amazing.
