$12k in damages after rock thrown from Lantz Interchange hits vehicle

LANTZ: RCMP are seeking information a mischief incident that could have resulted in serious injury or death near the new Exit 8A Lantz Interchange on Hwy 102.

In his weekly From the Cruiser highlight of calls, S/Sgt. Cory Bushell said on Feb. 10 RCMP were informed of an “extremely dangerous” act of mischief.

“The caller reported someone threw a rock from the overpass and struck his transport truck,” said S/Sgt. Bushell. “The large rock was jammed in the bodywork of the transport truck and caused approximately $12,000 in damages. “

Police spotted tracks in the snow that headed in the direction of Logan Drive but police were unable to use the tracks to identify a suspect. 

“This is a serious matter which could have resulted in injury or death.,” said S/Sgt. Bushell.
