GRAND FALLS, N.B.: A goaltender from Fall River that plies his trade in New Brunswick’s Victoria County is one of the Maritime Junior Hockey League’s Players of the Week for Dec. 6.

Nolan Boyd, who suits up with the Grand Falls Rapids, earned the nod as goalie player of the week for the Eastlink North division for his impeccable 1-0-0-0 record with a 1.85 Goals Against Record and 94.1 Save Percentage as his Rapids won in a thrilling shootout.

He stopped 32 of 34 shots he faced in the 3-2 shootout win on Dec. 4 over Edmundston.

The Rapids sit first in their East Link North Mini division at 7-2-0-3 (won-loss-overtime loss-shootout loss).
