NOEL SHORE: Seven fire departments from across East Hants were paged out to an early-morning structure fire in Noel Shore.

Fire chief Wayne Greene said firefighters heard the tones go off at approximately 1 a.m. on Dec. 4 for the house fire on Hwy 215 in Noel Shore.

“Upon arrival, we found a bungalow that was fully involved,” said Greene.

Mutual aid fire response was provided by an estimated 35 firefighters from Kennetcook; Maitland; Gore; Rawdon; Lantz; and Elmsdale fire departments. East Hants RCMP; EHS; and the Department of Public Works were also on scene.

Greene said there was no one home at the time of the fire.

“Our attack was fully defensive,” he said.

He said the fire was under control by 3:30 a.m., with overhaul being complete.

The cause of the fire is unknown, said Greene.

It was one of two fires the department responded too. The other was a mutual aid call to Walton Shore fire for a structure fire Dec. 5 in Tennecape.
