FALL RIVER: The Lockview High School Lady Dragons head into an unexpected break due to new COVID19 restrictions being implemented with a perfect record in Metro High School Girls Basketball League play.

The Dragons entered play the past week plus with a 2-0 (won-loss) record. They added to that handily with three more wins in three straight games.

Lockview bested Sir John A MacDonald 64-45 on Feb. 18, led by 14 points from D’Aujiah Simmons.

Grace Lancaster added 12 points, while Camryn Giddens contributed 10 points.

On Feb. 23, Camryn Giddens scored 12 points to lead Lockview past Sackville High 72-34.

Emma Foye added 11 points for the victors.

Thursday night, Feb. 25, it was an amazing defensive effort from the full roster of the Dragons as they torched Halifax Grammar 65-26 to go to 5-0.

Grace Lancaster, who is headed to UPEI in the fall, was the points leader with 15.

Emma Foye, who is in her senior year with LHS, contributed 14 baskets, while D’Aujiah Simmons added 12 points.

The Dragons were scheduled for a busy week next week with three games as the playoffs approached; however, all games have been paused for at least a month due to the new restrictions put in place not allowing sports teams to play games in HRM.
