FALL RIVER: Two games, two wins for the Lockview High Lady Dragons hoops basketball team.

The Lori Lancaster-coached Dragons kicked off the COVID19-delayed metro high school basketball season with a pair of wins last week, besting Citadel High 59-49 and downing Sackville area rival Millwood High 64-38.

The team was to play against CPA to open the season on Feb. 2, but that game was cancelled due to weather.

Against Citadel, it was the Lancaster sister show with Grace Lancaster scoring 16 points, while Ellie was right behind her putting up 14.

Grace Lancaster led the way against Millwood, while Camryn Giddens contributed 10 points and Sarah Timmins had eight points.

Lockview will play at Sir John A. MacDonald on Feb. 18; at Sackville High on Feb. 23; home to Halifax Grammar on Feb. 25; away at Auburn High on March 2.

The team finishes with three games scheduled for the friendly confines of the LHS gym, beginning March 4 against Prince Andrew; March 9 when Halifax West visits; and March 11against Dartmouth High.

All games are not allowed to have spectators at this time (Feb. 13), so fans and parents will cheer from home or outside the respective schools.
