ELMSDALE: The Municipality of East Hants has implemented Mandatory Water Restrictions for some of its water utility customers.
As of 2 p.m. on Oct. 7, East Hants Water Utility Customers in Enfield, Elmsdale, and Lantz are now under mandatory water restrictions.
This does not include the community of Shubenacadie, the municipality said.
What this means is as follows:
No lawn watering
No at-home car washing
No filling pools or hot tubs
No pressure washing

The Bulk water station is open for household necessities only – not recreational use.
The East Hants Aquatic Centre remains open and free potable water and showers are still available during operational hours.
The rain expected in the forecast is not anticipated to be enough to change conditions this week.
“We are still encouraging residents in all other East Hants communities and rural areas to conserve water wherever possible,” said Municipal spokesperson Juliann Cashen. “Your cooperation helps protect our water supply for everyone.”
