ENFIELD: Josh Mersereau threw a solid outing on the slab Sunday morning leading his Hants North Flames past host Hants East Tigers in the final of the baseball tournament in Enfield.
Hants North had lost 10-0 to HERH in a round robin game played at George P. Horne Memorial Fields (Enfield Legion) in Enfield on Saturday.
When the two teams met on Sunday, it was another close one only the Flames came out on top thanks to Mersereau’s pitching.
On the slab, he gave up three hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six and walking none as the Flames blanked HERH 3-0.

Gavin Seitl was just as strong on the slab for the Tigers, recording 13 outs, but the bats helped push the Flames to the victory.
It wasn’t until the fourth inning that the first run was scored when Kolby Bowers hit a single that plated two runs.
Mason Harvey and Tyler White each collected two hits for the Flames.
Seitl took the loss for HERH Tigers, going four and one-third innings, surrendering two runs on five hits.
Seitl, Simon Bugden, and Ben Canning collected one hit apiece for the Tigers in the loss.
The next game for HERH is Thursday when they face the CEC Cougars.
