RCMP arrest two for theft; recover stolen property

LOWER SACKVILLE: Halifax District RCMP arrested two people in a parking lot in Lower Sackville and recovered stolen property. 

Cpl. Chris Marshall, spokesman for Halifax District RCMP, said on April 20, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Halifax District RCMP received a report of two suspicious people in a vehicle in a parking lot on Sackville Dr. in Lower Sackville.

Police responded and located a man and woman in the vehicle.

Through their investigation, police located approximately $2,000 in stolen property in the vehicle. The property had been stolen from various stores across the Halifax Regional Municipality.

The 30-year-old man and 28-year-old woman, both from Halifax, are facing charges of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime. The man is also facing charges of Theft under $5,000 and Obstructing a Peace Officer.

Both were released from custody on conditions and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date. The vehicle was towed.
