RCMP investigating break-and-enter, suspicious fire

LOWER SACKVILLE: The RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigation Section of the Criminal Investigation Division is investigating a break and enter, assault and arson that occurred at a home in Lower Sackville on Feb. 27.

In a press release, police say at approximately 5:10 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a home on fire Sackville Dr. The only occupant was able to get out prior to police arrival and was taken to hospital by EHS with non life-threatening injuries.

Police believe an unknown man had entered the home, assaulted the occupant and started a fire in the home before leaving.

The suspect is described as a white man, 5-foot-7 and was wearing a dark jacket and a hat.
