FALL RIVER/MILFORD: A powerful community event aimed at raising awareness and supporting survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation is coming to the Fall River area this September.
The Stop the Traffick Charity Motorcycle Ride and Community Walk will take place on Saturday, September 12, in support of TREY, bringing riders and walkers together for one important mission: to help restore hope and empower survivors.
Registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Â at GP Vanier School in Fall River, where it will start at 10 a.m. and finish at Masstown Creamery.
For motorcycle riders, kickstands will go up at 10:30 a.m.
TREY Trauma Recovery for Exploited Youth. TREY is a safe house and healing program for girls and women who have been exploited through sex trafficking.

For those wishing to take part on foot, four community walks are planned throughout the day. Walkers can join at:
GP Vanier School at 10 a.m.
Milford Rec at 11 a.m.
Resilience Centre in Millbrook at 12 p.m.
Masstown Creamery at 12 p.m.
Participants will also have the opportunity to raise funds for every kilometre travelled, helping support survivors and bring greater awareness to the issue of human trafficking.
The event is being presented with the message that every kilometre tells a story, every step raises awareness, and every rider and walker stands with survivors.

The Stop the Traffick event is supported by several community organizations, including:
TreY Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Native Women’s Association, the Halifax Bikers Association, and Bikers Against Child Abuse.
Organizers are encouraging riders, walkers and community members to get involved and become part of a day focused on awareness, hope and action.
