ENFIELD: A virtual fundraiser is set for April 19 in memory of Const. Heidi Stevenson, the East Hants RCMP officer killed during the N.S. mass shooting last April.

Const. Cheryl Ponee, a good friend and fellow RCMP colleague of Const. Stevenson’s, and NRG2G0 Fitness will be hosting the second annual Mountie Monday Fitness Fundraiser. All proceeds are going to the N.S. Fallen Officer fund for Heidi and husband Dean’s children, Ava, and Connor.

It will take place virtually beginning at 5:30 p.m. on April 19, so anyone anywhere can take part.

A donation of $5 or more to participate in the class for non NRG2GO Fitness members. For those who are members with NRG2GO it is free.  Once you donate to the fundraiser, Const. Ponee said she will then add you to the private fundraiser page.

In 2020, a similar fundraiser raised $7,000 in one class.

“The response was overwhelming for the first one,” said Const. Ponee. “I want to do what I can to help support Ava and Connor, lessen the strain on Dean, and keep Heidi’s memory alive.”
