LANTZ: Addison Watt and Kayla MacLeod each scored twice and the Metro Inferno FIRE used a three-goal third period to break open a close game and earn a season opening victory.
Jade Miller provided solid goaltending to help the FIRE skate to the 7-0 win over rival Metro East Inferno Blaze in U-18 AA female hockey action.
The game was played before a good crowd of family and friends on Ice Pad B at the East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz on Saturday afternoon Oct. 11.
Julia Cashen; Nealah Mills; and Gabrielle London each supplied a single tally apiece in the win.

Assists were credited to Watt with two, while single helpers came off the sticks of Cashen; London; Ava Stevenson; Sophie Cormier; Cherish Thomey; and Jessica Gorman.
Madison MacMillan was in goal for the Blaze surrendering all seven goals.
The Blaze had four penalty minutes, while the Fire were also sent to the sin bin for four penalty minutes.
The Metro East Inferno FIRE have several local players from the East Hants area, and at least one with connections to the Waverley area, on their roster.
