DARTMOUTH: A man from Wellington and woman from Fall River were among three people caught going more than the posted speed limit on Jan. 21.
In a news release, Halifax Regional police say members of their Traffic Unit observed three vehicles driving in excess of 50 km/h over the speed limit on Hwy 102 in Halifax and Hwy 111 in Dartmouth.
A 43-year-old Wellington man was nabbed for going 151 km/h in a 100 km/h zone; while a 34-year-old Fall River woman was caught going 170 km/h in a 100 zone.
The third person, a 51-year-old Porters Lake man, was picked up for going 101 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.
All were ticketed for stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act, a charge that is automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit.
In addition, all three were suspended from driving for one week and their vehicles were seized and towed.
