MILFORD: Here is a look at the July calls for local volunteer fire departments.
Call info has been provided by Milford Fire; Elmsdale Fire; Kennetcook fire; Indian Brook fire; Enfield fire; Nine Mile River fire; Lantz Fire; Uniacke & District fire; Stewiacke fire; and Shubenacadie fire.
Milford Fire had received 14 Calls in July. Out of these, 13 were for Mutual Aid.
The calls consisted of five structure fires; four MVC’s; two medicals; a garbage fire; grass fire; and a smoke condition inside a structure.
For Elmsdale fire, they responded to 23 calls in July.
The tally was led by eight medical assists; four alarm activations; two mvc’s; two mvc’s Hwy 102 northbound; one brush fire; one other; and one vehicle fire.
Indian Brook fire had 10 calls for the month of July, led by seven mutual aid calls.
Four of the mutual aid responses were to Shubenacadie Fire and three to Stewiacke Fire.
Other calls in their own community were one garbage on fire; one brush fire; and one residential fire alarm (false alarm) call.
Enfield fire had 24 times when they heard the “sound of their people” in July.
The pager toned nine times for medical assists and eight times for mutual aid requests. Firefighters also responded to three mvc’s; three brush fires; and one structure fire.
For firefighters with Uniacke & District fire, they heard the tones 31 times in July, eld by1 6 medical assists.
There were also eight mvc’s; four mutual aid requests; and three brush fires.
Lantz firefighters dealt with 13 calls, led by four structure fires.
They also addressed three medical assists; two RIT calls; one vehicle fire; one MVC; and one alarm activation.
For Kenentcook fire in July, they had six calls led by three woods fire.
They also had two MVC’s; and one medical assist call.
Shubenacadie fire attended to 12 calls, led by six mutual aid calls. They had four MVC’s in their district and two grass fires.
The mutual aid calls were three to Stewiacke fire for structure fires; and Indian Brook for three calls, one of each a woods fire; dumpster fire; and an alarm call.
For Nine Mile River fire, they had a busy month with 12 calls, led by five mutual aid requests to neighbouring departments.
Firefighters also responded to four MVC’s; and three medical assist calls.
Stewiacke Fire had 29 calls in July, led by 12 medical assists.
They also heard their pager tone for four MVC’s; three commercial fire alarms; three structure fires; two mutual aid requests; on structure fire flare up; one trash fire; one power lines down arching; one fire investigation; and one grass/brush fire.
