LANTZ: A three goal first period allowed the South Shore Lumberjacks to spoil the home opener for the East Hants Junior Penguins.
The NSJHL game was played on Friday night in the Keith Miller Arena at the East Hants Sportsplex in Lantz.
South Shore scored all three of their goals in a 13 minute span of the opening frame.
East Hants’ lone goal came off the stick of Finley Diab early in the third. It was assisted by Chris Caissie and Aiden Nicholson.
Fintan Boudreau suffered the goaltending loss for the Pens.
East Hants is back in action on Sept. 19 in Lantz as they host the Windsor Oxen in a 7:30 p.m. puck drop.
