LAKEVIEW: The community of Lakeview has come through yet again for those less fortunate in their community and surrounding areas.
Recently, the community held their annual food drive in support of the Lions Christmas Express, which serves the Waverley, Lakeview, Windsor Junction, Fall River to Enfield HRM, and even out towards Goffs sometimes.
At Christmas time, volunteers from the community get together to organize and plan the Lions Christmas Express food drive to collect financial support and food to provide to upwards of 100 families.
This year, the Lakeview food drive collected a truck full of food for the Lions Christmas Express during their annual neighbourhood food drive.
Volunteers with the Christmas Express met up with the Lakeview food drive organizers to collect the food in late November.
“I’d like to express my sincere thanks to all the residents and volunteers who participated in our recently held food drive,” said main organizer Miguel Salguerio.
“All of the food donated and collected by residents of Lakeview will be sorted and delivered in Christmas boxes to families in need in our community and surrounding communities.
“This was an amazing job by all.”
