Man, young girl die in Lower Sackville house fire

LOWER SACKVILLE: A man and a young girl have died in an early morning house fire in Lower Sackville on March 3.

Halifax District RCMP say they responded at 2:34 a.m. to a 911 call of a duplex on fire on Leaside Drive, near Access N.S. EHS and several area fire crews also responded.

Police confirmed a 58-year-old man and 11-year-old girl died in the fire, while two others–an 18-year-old man and 46-year-old woman–were also injured. the 18-year-old was sent to the QEII with life-threatening injuries.

The 46-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after being rescued by RCMP officers from a second floor window.

Fire and RCMP investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
