FALL RIVER: RCMP are investigating an incident that was reported as an alleged assault and led to heavy police presence in the Lockview Road area of Fall River on Aug. 19.

Cpl. Lisa Croteau, spokeswoman with Halifax District RCMP, said that police responded to the call mid-afternoon on Aug. 19. Officers had parts of Lockview Road closed and were detouring traffic up Kinclaven Avenue.

Police were also spotted patrolling the St Andrews Village subdivision/Jamieson Drive area by local residents.

She said two men wearing masks entered a home on Sutherland Drive, produced a weapon and were looking for items believed to be in the home. Sutherland Drive is at the end of Lockview Road and off of Limestone Avenue.

“This does not appear to be a random act,” said Cpl. Croteau on Aug. 21.

In the process of the incident, one of the occupants of the home sustained an injury. They were treated at hospital and later released, said Cpl. Croteau.

Cpl. Croteau said the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
