ELMSDALE: A Hants East Rural High Tigers women’s basketball star player will be hitting the court in Wolfville next year.
In a Twitter post, the Acadia Axewomen announced that six-foot-one forward Sarah Delorey had officially committed to the women’s basketball team for 2021.
With the Tigers basketball program, Delorey was a two-time NSSAF Sports provincial champion on teams coached by Chris Trainor. She was also a permanent fixture with Basketball N.S. teams during her junior high and high school years.
“Excited to have you travel ‘down the road’ to play with us here at Acadia, Sarah,” said the tweet from @AxewomenBB.
Acadia head coach Len Harvey also commented on the news, via twitter.
“I’ve gotten to watch Sarah play for a while now,” said Harvey. “She’s dedicated, tough, loves the game, and has a real nose for the ball. Excited to coach her during her university career.
“She’s going to be great here on Stu Aberdeen Court.”
