1st Canal Brownies keeping the community clean

FALL RIVER: The 1st Canal Brownies held a hike recently from St. John’s United Church to the Gordon R. Snow Community Centre.

Along the way they decided to pickup the litter they could along the sidewalk and ground nearby, including in the Sobeys mall grassy area by Hwy 2 and Subway.

The girls did a great job, and in the end collected 25 bags of garbage.

“They are excited to do it again soon,” said leader Vicki Gomes.

“They were extremely excited and enthusiastic about keeping the community clean.”

Picking up the litter they saw was priority for the girls.

“They even decided not to do a hike on the trail, so they could continue to pick up trash at the Community Centre,” she said.
