MILFORD: RCMP responded to a report of an impaired driver in the Milford area on Oct. 8–only it turned out the motorist wasn’t actually impaired.
S/Sgt. Cory Bushell, with East Hants RCMP in Enfield, said a call came in from a concerned motorist that there was an impaired driving on Hwy 2 in the Milford area.
“Members caught up to the driver, but detected no impairment,” said S/Sgt. Bushell. “The driver was following a GPS and admitted to paying too much attention to the device.”
He gave drivers who may find themselves in the same scenario.
“Motorists are warned that distracted driving comes in many forms and is a threat to your safety, the safety of your occupants, your fellow motorists and pedestrians,” said S/Sgt. Bushell. “Please drive safe at all times.”
The call was one of 103 the local detachment responded to during the past week, and among those included in the weekly From the Cruiser column.
