Expect delays as road paving takes place Saturday night

FALL RIVER: The road paving of Highway 2 and Fall River Road will continue this Saturday night, Nov. 17, says Halifax Water in a release.

In the Nov. 15 release, issued shortly after lunch, Halifax Water spokesman James Campbell said the company is advising motorists and pedestrians, as part of the extension of water service to the community of Fall River, that Dexter Construction, on behalf of Halifax Water will be paving on Highway#2 beginning the evening of Saturday, November 17th.

The work will start at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 and will see rolling stop and go, single lane traffic from the intersection of Fall River Road/Highway 2 heading toward Mill Brook Crossing, near Inn on the Lake

“It is estimated this work will be completed at 9 a.m. (Nov. 18), weather permitting, but crews will continue until paving is complete,” said Campbell.During this work traffic lights at the intersection of Highway 2 and Fall River Road will be shutdown.”

Halifax Water said that experienced traffic control personnel will be on-site to ensure smooth traffic flow around the work zone. On-site personnel will also maintain communication with local residents and businesses to help minimize disruption. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Motorists should expect delays. Motorists are also reminded that speed fines double in work zones.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this community water infrastructure improvement work may cause,” said Campbell.
