ENFIELD: An RCMP officer that died in the line of duty protecting the community she serves was recognized posthumously recently by MADD Canada.
In a post on their Facebook page, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada announced that Const. Heidi Stevenson, who was stationed out of the Enfield detachment of East Hants RCMP, was awarded the Terry Ryan Memorial Award for Excellence in Police Service.
Const. Stevenson was tragically killed in the line of duty on Apr. 19 during the N.S. mass shooting.
Dedicated to the enforcement of impaired driving laws, she was a trained Drug Recognition Evaluator and instructor on Evidentiary Breath Training and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.
“We honour and remember Const. Stevenson,” said MADD Canada in their post.
