ENFIELD: A 46-year-old Wellington man faces impaired driving charges after he was involved in a collision while riding a motorcycle.
At approximately 5:30 p.m. on May 12, Halifax District RCMP, with assistance from Enfield RCMP, responded to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a van on Hwy 2 near Oldham Rd.
When members arrived on scene, they noticed signs of impairment in the motorcycle rider and administered an Approved Screening Device roadside to test his breath for alcohol. He failed the test, was arrested and taken to Enfield RCMP Detachment for breath testing by an Approved Instrument. His blood alcohol level was found to be twice the legal limit.
The 46-year-old man from Wellington is facing the charges of Impaired Driving by Alcohol and Impaired Driving with a Blood Alcohol Concentration that is Equal to or Exceeds 80 mg %. He is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on June 19 at 09:30 a.m.
No one was injured in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
