WINDSOR JUNCTION: With Baseball Nova Scotia announcing Phase 1 of the Return to Baseball being approved by the province following the COVID19 shutdown, LWF Baseball and Tri-County Baseball has also announced its plans.
Dr. Robert Strang, Chief Medical Officer of Health for N.S. and a Fall River resident, signed off on Baseball N.S.’s plan recently.
In summary, that means that associations are able to hold training and development sessions/practices with a maximum of 10 people on the field with two of them having to be coaches (so eight players). There are some conditions that players, coaches and associations must meet in order to participate and all of those details can be found on the BNS website.
On its Facebook page, LWF Baseball said that executives for both them and Tri-County have reviewed the documents and procedures. They announced the following as their plans:
– Tri County Rangers competitive teams will start tryouts somewhere around June 19th. More info will be communicated once we have the exact schedule in place.
If you haven’t registered and paid yet, the cut off is June 13th so please go to lwfbaseball.com to register. Please understand that only Phase 1 has been approved and we may never get to Phase 2 which would include games. This means it could possibly be only practices/development for the year.
– The final registration deadline for house league is June 25th. Again, please understand that there may only be practices if Phase 2 is not approved.
Registration will remain the full amount at this point but if we do not get to Phase 2 we will issue a partial refund based on what our costs are (we anticipate the cost to be $50-$100 per player if no games are played). If for any reason we are not able to execute phase 1, a full refund will be issued.
– For our Novice and Rally Cap players, until the maximum number of people in a public gathering is increased enough to safely hold the sessions, we will put those divisions on hold.
If anyone who has already registered and paid does not want to participate in the 2020 season, please email justin.baker@saint-gobain.com by June 25th and we will issue a full refund.
LWF Baseball asks parents to keep an eye on its Facebook page and website for further updates.
