HAMMONDS PLAINS: A 36-year-old Bedford woman has been charged with impaired driving after police receive multiple calls from the public about an erratic driver in the Hubbards area. She was found to be three times over the legal limit.
On August 7, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Halifax District RCMP received multiple calls of a car driving erratically in the Hubbards area. Patrols were made but the car was not located.
“A short time later, another call was received that the same car was on Hammonds Plains Rd.,” said Cpl. Lisa Croteau. “The car was reported to be all over the road, driving slow and stopping in the middle of intersections.
“With assistance from the caller, who provided further details to the members, the car was located at a business in Hammonds Plains.”
Officers conducted a traffic stop with the car and spoke to the female driver who showed signs of impairment.
“The woman took a Roadside Screening Device test and failed, she was arrested for impaired driving,” said Cpl. Croteau. “She was transported to the Tantallon RCMP Detachment for a breath test and her readings were found to be more than three time the legal limit.”
She was later released and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on October 7.
