Kai Dwyer claims Jr. Men’s trampoline title

    FALL RIVER: Kai Dwyer is the junior men’s Canadian trampoline champion.

    The Fall River product grabbed the prestigious title at the recently held Canadian Trampoline Championships held in Oshawa Ontario.

    Dwyer had a convincing lead, scoring 55.465 pts. Kai trains out of from Titans Gymnastics and Trampoline Club.

    Gymnastics Nova Scotia fielded a team of 11 athletes who were competing in Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Power Tumbling.

    Tia Wamboldt also from the Titan’s Trampoline and Tumbling Club won silver in Women’s L5 17+ Trampoline.

    These strong results contributed to the Men securing the Bronze Team award in Trampoline and in Double Mini Trampoline and the ladies winning Team Bronze in Double Mini Trampoline.

    This is the first time in several years that Nova Scotia has sent a team this large. With athletes from Truro, HRM and the Valley representing the province, Trampoline and Tumbling has a strong future.

    Dwyer also was part of the Atlantic Team who won bronze in the men’s Trampoline team competition.

    This was Kai’s second gold this year and he is the top Junior in Canada. His scores qualified him for Worlds in Tokyo, Japan in December, a place on the National Team and he also hit Senior scores so he can mobilize to the Senior Team next year after Tokyo.
