Liam Kidney earns third star honours in game
HALIFAX: A Fall River native made his first impression count with Cape Breton Eagles hockey fans.
Kian Bell, called up for the Eagles game on Feb. 12 against the Halifax Mooseheads at Scotiabank Centre, took his first QMJHL shift and made count, scoring his first-ever Q goal putting Cape Breton ahead 1-0 early in the first period.
Bell currently plays with the Steele Major Midgets in the NS U-18 Major Midget Hockey League.
It was a lead the Eagles would never look back from on their way to a 4-1 victory over their N.S. rival.
Liam Kidney of Enfield scored what would be the game winner a short time after Bell’s tally. He earned the game’s third star honours.
Will Grimard made 24 of 25 saves in his return to the Cape Breton for the victory.
