ELMSDALE: Organizers with East Hants Tidefest 2020 announce on April 1 that they have made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 event due to COVID19.
In a release, Rod Dickie, on behalf of Come Home East Hants Association / East Hants Tide Fest, said these are uncertain times right now.
“The spread of COVID-19 throughout the world and here at home has been tough on everyone, and we have been getting questions about this year’s plans for East Hants Tide Fest,” said Dickie. Over the past several months our volunteers have been planning the fourth annual event scheduled for this July.
“Although we’ve been looking forward to another great year, our board of volunteers has made the hard decision to cancel the 2020 event.”
He said they are hopeful things are back to normal very soon, but without knowing how the next weeks and months will play out, they couldn’t put anyone at risk.
“We hope you understand,” said Dickie. “Right now, we should all focus on staying safe and healthy, so the community can come back together as soon as possible.
All of that said, we will start planning Tide Fest 2021 as soon as we can, and get ready to come back bigger and better next year.”
Tide Fest raises thousands of dollars each year in our community – 2021 will just have some catching up to do.
