BEDFORD: A 40-year-old Bedford man has been caught going more than 100 kilometres over the posted speed limit on Highway 102 on Sept. 13.
Just after noon, a member of the RCMP Southeast Traffic Services stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 102 for driving at 206 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone, 106 km/hr over the limit.
In a release, Halifax District RCMP said the 40-year-old male driver from Bedford was charged for Stunting under the Motor Vehicle Act. The fine for stunting in Nova Scotia is 2422.50.
The driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized.
Nova Scotia RCMP want to remind the public that speed is one of the major causes of serious injury and fatal collisions on our roads. Road Safety is a priority for the RCMP, and drivers are reminded to make it their priority as well.
